A native of New Jersey, Brian was taught to fly fish from his Father and Grandfather at the age of 9 on small trout streams between NJ/ NY and Vermont. He always treated fishing as a hobby while spending 13 years in the restaurant business. Realizing that he wanted to fish more than cook he left the restaurant world and began working in fly shops, doing hosted trips to the Islands and Montana. After the pandemic, Brian got the call of a lifetime from a friend offering him a chance to move to the legendary Catskills. Brian currently lives in the Catskills managing Cross Current Outfitters and spends his time off chasing wild trout and venturing back NJ for stripers.

  1. Home water? Upper Delaware, Jersey Coast
  2. What 2-3 lines do you use the most and why?

Amplitude Textured Infinity- This line has the best of both worlds for fishing the upper Delaware system. The half-weight heavy line along with a longer head really makes feeding line and mending a lot easier, when presenting tiny flies to warry Delaware trout.

Amplitude Textured Bonefish- Between the Med length head and shooting texture this line is amazing when your either stalking spooky bonefish on the flats or casting to ones 60+ ft away on the bow of a boat. The ability to pick up line and have less false casts can make or break your day out there.

Infinity- I like using this line for spooky trout that I can’t get that close to you can bomb it out there with ease and this line still offers the capabilities of an easy mend with a lot of line out to deliver that perfect presentation.
  3. Two Truths and a Lie.

I hitchhiked through Yellowstone Park one weekend.

I consider myself a Cauliflower Connoisseur.

Lived in a blown out/collapsing hotel for 4 days before being flown out after a hurricane

  4. Where would you most like to fish? – Patagonia/Argentina would be my number one choice. When I was younger, I was given a book “In Patagonia” by Bruce Chatwin and after that, all I could think about was getting down. Another I must add would be Africa for Tigerfish
