Captain Joel Dickey is a guide in the Florida Keys who specializes in sight fishing for tarpon, and permit in the Big Pine Key and lower keys area. He started his guiding career over 20 years ago in North Georgia guiding for trout on the tail waters and small streams in the area and also guided for bass and striped bass on the local reservoirs. He has been a captain in the Florida Keys for going over n 15 years. Captain Joel has also guided for salmon in Alaska. He was also a certified casting instructor through the Federation of Flyfishers. Capt. Joel Dickey is on the the advisory staff of Thomas and Thomas Fly Rods, Scientific Anglers, an SimmsPro and on the Factory team for SEiGLER reels.. Captain Joel is also part owner of North Georgia’s premier guide service Appalachian Anglers in his hometown of Blue Ridge, Georgia. . Captain Joel has been featured on several covers of nationally distributed fly fishing magazines along with being featured in one of the industries top selling DVDs “Rise”. He is also a contributor to popular blogs and magazines in the industry either through his writing or photography.
