Adam grew up in northeast Pennsylvania with aspirations of being a Yankee or a professional bass fisherman. His love for fly fishing was sparked as a teenager when his family took several summer vacations to western national parks, including Grand Teton and that first float on the Snake. Adam and his father then started tinkering back home in PA. When Adam was in high school, his father bought the local fly shop in Scranton, and the rest was history. Guiding started organically during his college years, doing wade trips around town, before finally becoming a full time gig in his mid 20s.
- Home water? Adam grew up on, learned to fly fish on, and spent most his free time on the Lackawanna River. His guiding is split between the Delaware, Lehigh and Susquehanna Rivers.
- What 2-3 lines do you use the most and why? Infinity – Can’t beat its versatility. Having a line in the boat that can handle any situation is a major asset.Anadro – Let’s face it, streamers and dry flies aren’t generally most clients’ strong suite. Nymphing is the way most of them are going to catch fish day in and day out. Having a line that a client can overhead or roll cast a bobber rig easily is a must.Titan/Bass Bug – Nothing bombs a big popper or streamer out there any better!
- Two Truths and a Lie? I have a tattoo of a brook trout on my forearm. I have over a thousand albums in my record collection. I was just about to go back to school to become a kindergarten teacher when my guiding career took off.
