  1. Home water? I broke a teaching contract and moved across country for the most magical place that is THE Green River below the Flaming Gorge Dam in Utah. This river has my heart: from the bighorn sheep to wild, angry browns to the ancient, red sandstone that comprises the slot canyon. Nothing really can compare. Yes, there are a few fish along the river, but with the over-abundance of pressure, you better provide a perfect drift. If it were easy, I’d be out of a job.
  2. What 2-3 lines do you use the most and why?   I spend 200 days a year on my home water and I wouldn’t want to be caught without my two favorite lines. On days when fish won’t leave the safety of the river bed, I rely on the Anadro Indicator line. It’s made even the heaviest, longest nymph rigs a breeze to manage.  When fish are more cooperative, I find the Amplitude Smooth Infinity gets the job done targeting fish on the surface.
  3. Where would you most like to fish? If I ignore my home water, then I’d really like to have the opportunity to target taimen. Who wouldn’t want to target the largest trout on this planet?!?! Mongolia anyone… let’s go!!!
  4. Two Truths and a Lie.
I was born and raised in the Appa-latch-un mountains of the South only to reject mayonnaise my entire life. I decided to take six months and walk from Georgia to Maine with nothing but a backpack. I sold my floor tickets to the opening night of the Eras Tour for $10k per ticket… sorry, Taylor!
