Jessica started off as an ultra runner and happened to cross paths with a fly angler one crisp November morning on the Rocky River in Cleveland, OH. After a short conversation she thought to herself what a lovely way to connect with nature. Now all she thinks, breaths and cares about is fly fishing. The addiction is “reel”.  She works for a beer and wine distribution full time and part time for The Backpackers Fly Shop in Sheffield, Ohio. She is also the co-founder of Ohio Women on the Fly. Ohio Women on the Fly is a community that was created to bring women anglers in Ohio together and to inspire more women to get on the water. Ohio Women on the Fly hosts fly fishing trips locally, Fly fishing clinics, fly tying classes, casting courses and much more. When she’s not on the water you can find her trail running along the river (TO LOOK FOR FISHING SPOTS)  with her dogs Loki and Rosie. She also enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, road biking and paddle boarding with her family and friends.

1. Home water? Lake Erie and its beautiful tributaries. I don’t think people understand how special and diverse the Great Lakes and its tributaries truly are.
2. What 2-3 lines do you use the most and why? We have awesome species diversity in Ohio so we use many different SA lines. I love using the Spey Lite Integrated Skagit when I’m swinging up those Lake Run Rainbows or Steelhead. Fight amongst yourselves. Sonar Sink 25 Cold, use it off a boat or off the breakwalls this line rocks throwing into the big pond… cough Lake Erie. Sonar Titan Intermediate full/standard depending on season and Mastery Bass Bug because who doesn’t want to see a smallie crush a popper. That’s more than three. I’ve never been good at math.
3. Where would you most like to fish?  Seychelles, Iceland and Patagonia.
4. Two Truths and a Lie. 
 I ran 200 kilometers across the Andes in Bolivia at 16,000 feet above sea level. I was a child model. Also auditioned for a Cedar Point commercial. Please no autographs at this time. I was a backup dancer in one of Kid Cudi’s music videos. Now I only cut a run in local hole-in-the-wall bars.
