My name is Brian Shumaker I am a fly-fishing guide in south central Pennsylvania. I am the

owner of Susquehanna River Guides, specializing in fly-fishing for smallmouth bass on the

Susquehanna and Juniata rivers.

I grew up on the Susquehanna River and started fishing for smallmouth bass and other

warm water species. My dad and I also did some trout fishing as well. But my passion has

always been the smallmouth bass.

With over two decades of experience guiding anglers on the waters of south-central

Pennsylvania, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and love for fly-fishing. As the

owner of Susquehanna River Guides, I specialize in helping clients pursue smallmouth

bass on the Susquehanna and Juniata rivers, ensuring memorable experiences for

beginners and seasoned anglers alike.

Favorite 2-3 Lines and why:

Amplitude Textured Bass bug can throw everything from foam popping bugs to large deer

hair bugs with ease and is a joy to cast.

Sonar Titan Tropical/ Jungle Clear Tip. My go to summer line for throwing streamers, cast

well in the heat and does not coil.

Where I would most like to fish: It would have to be the Amazon chasing giant peacock

bass.

Two truths and a lie:

I love to chase redfish in Texas

I have fished with both Bob Clouser and Lefty Kreh
