My name is Joshua Rokosch and I’m a full time fishing guide for Latitudes Outfitting Company located in Hamilton, MT. I was born in Missoula, MT and the son to a fisheries biologist. I have spent a lifetime surrounded by rivers and trout. With well over 20 years fly fishing experience I specialize in targeting larger age class trout via dry fly methods. I enjoy teaching fly fishing to all anglers novice to advanced, and am fortunate to guide on the same rivers I cut my teeth on as a fisherman.
- Home water? My home waters consist of the Bitterroot, Clark Fork, and Blackfoot rivers in Western Montana
- What 2-3 lines do you use the most and why?I find the majority of my rods contain either the Amplitude MPX, Amplitude Infinity, or the Amplitude Anadro/nymph taper. The more aggressive taper of the MPX allows my clients to more easily turn over large dry flies as well as dry/dropper rigs. I find the more gradual taper of the Infinity more suited for my more advanced clients and used more so for hard to reach rising trout. The Anadro/nymph taper is my preferred line for nymph fishing and handles casting a bobber, two flies, and split shot with ease.
- Where would you most like to fish? With tarpon fishing weighing heavy on my mind I have no set preferred destination. Literally any flat or mangrove where I could sight fish to large mature tarpon wind my vote.
- Two Truths and a Lie.
I mostly row the boat and net other people’s fishWhen I’m not fishing I’m hunting elk or hunting ducksI dislike fine bourbon and can’t stand brown trout
