Kynslee Scott

Pro

Hi there, my name is Kynslee Scott and I am a longtime Montana based guide, I run a steelhead operation in Washington State, and also work in conservation. Additionally, I am host of one of the largest fly fishing events for women in the west, am cofounder of two nonprofits for guides, and host international trips with my husband. I am a proud G Loomis, Simms, and Umpqua Ambassador and SA Pro.

  1. Home water?   Clark Fork drainage
  2. What 2-3 lines do you use the most and why?  Amplitude Textured MPX WF5 and WF6 – Paired with my Loomis NRX+ rods in the boat, I am confident that with all skill levels, my clients have the right tools to excel.  The MPX is able to overturn large dry droppers (my meat and potatoes) with ease, speed, and accuracy. Amplitude Texture Bonefish WF9 – For permit, this is my go-to line! The revised taper is a game changer when it comes to landing your fly softly and also has a great turnover when laying out long distance casts.
  3. Where would you most like to fish?   Mongolia for Taimen
  4. Two Truths and a Lie.
I am a sixth generation Montanan, I can operate most all heavy machinery, and I am excellent at casting a spinning rod.
