Special Delivery | Sonar Titan Sink Tip

Scientific Anglers Sonar Series fly lines are all designed to fish below the surface.  They were designed by hard-core anglers to cover a complete range of situations and fish flies through the whole water column.  These lines are fully featured having AST Plus for increased slickness and durability, Sonar technology for controlled sink rates, SA-ID, and Welded Loops.  Temperature rated cores and coatings are used to maximize performance in various situations.

Sonar Titan Sink-Tip Video

The Sonar Titan Sink-Tip line is one of the most popular Sonar profiles for throwing large flies.  SA R&D Manager, Josh Jenkins, covers the various features of this versatile line.  The line is two sizes heavy (use your designated line size) for quick loading and turnover.  The short, 43-foot head allows minimal false casts to shoot line and easy pick up to recast.  The Sonar Titan Sink-Tip is a great line for wading and from a boat for moderate to cold temperatures.  Use it for trout, smallmouth, pike, steelhead, salmon, and stripers in saltwater.

The Sonar Titan Sink Tip is available in line weights #5-#10.  Sink tip length varies from 8 feet-16 feet to maximize casting performance.  The tip is available in 3 different densities- Intermediate, Sink 3, and Sink 6.  This allows flies to be fished effectively in a wide range of depths and current situations.   The Sonar Titan Sink Tip line allows anglers to easily cast and fish large flies from just under the surface to medium depths.

Sonar Titan 3D (Triple Density) Video

SA R&D Manager, Josh Jenkins, presents the various versions of the Sonar Titan 3D line and features.  These lines are made two sizes heavy (use your designated line size) on the versatile Titan taper.  It also has the Shooting Texture incorporated into it.  This allows minimal false casts to shoot line for distance.  The short head gives quick, easy turnover of large flies.  The primary feature of the Sonar Titan 3D is the increase in density from the running line to the tip.  This gives a straight-line connection to the fly for better bite detection and hook.

These lines are used in a variety of moderate to cold water situations for a wide range of species.  It is available from line weights #6-#12.  In freshwater fish it for trout, smallmouth, steelhead pike, muskie, and salmon.  In saltwater stripers are the main target.  Densities of the Sonar Titan3D vary from Hover/Sink 2/Sink 4 to Sink 3/Sink 5/Sink 7.  The lines can be fished in a full range of depths down to approximately 25 feet.  The denser lines allow the fly to retrieved rapidly, but still maintain depth.  This is a key component for success when targeting larger predators.
