Scientific Anglers Amplitude Smooth Infinity Warm
Scientific Anglers continues to receive awards for new lines that have recently joined their lineup. The SA Amplitude Smooth Infinity Warm line is recognized in the 2024 Fly Fisherman Gear Guide as The Best New Warmwater Fly Line.
Built on the multi-purpose Infinity taper, the Infinity Warm features a unique construction with a coldwater core and a tropical coating. It was designed for the trout angler in a boat during the heat of the summer where the line sits on a hot deck when be fished. A standard trout line with a coldwater core and coating can turn soft and sticky in this situation, negatively impacting casting.
With a tropical coating the line maintains its integrity and casts properly. Shooting ability, loop formation, and accuracy are not affected by the increased heat on the deck. The Infinity Warm has a short front taper and is also a half-size heavy. This rods to be loaded easily and helping to turn over large dries like Chubby’s, hopper/dropper combos, and indicator rigs. The extended rear taper makes mending easy.
The Infinty Warm will also crossover to summertime smallmouth anglers. In low water it will present the smaller surface patterns used with delicacy and pinpoint accuracy. Here a standard bass taper hits too hard and a trout taper line turns to mush in the heat. The Infinity Warm fills this need perfectly.
Like all Amplitude Smooth lines, the Infinity Warm Line is fully-featured. SA Line ID, Welded Loops, Improved Dry Tip, and the AST Plus additive are all present. Three color construction shows taper changes. The Infinity Warm is available from WF5 to WF9
