Absolute Tri-Color Euro Sighter Tippet Material is an integral part of the set up for Euro-style nymphing. This is a short-line nymphing technique where a long rod is used to hold most of the line and part of the leader off the water to maintain a dead-drift presentation. A sighter material is added to the middle part of the leader and works as a strike indicator. Low memory, high abrasion resistance, maximum knot strength. When the sighter jumps or darts, the hook is set.
In this video, Scientific Anglers R&D Manager, Josh Jenkins, reviews the features of the Absolute Tri-Color Sighter tippet. The three colors- white, fluorescent orange, and fluorescent green allow visibility and strike detection under any light conditions. It is available in 3 sizes- 4x, 2x, and 0x to match a wide variety of nymphing situations and fly sizes. Absolute Tri-Color Euro Sighter Tippet Material comes in 10-meter lengths on SA’s patented cutter spool.
Absolute Tippet is made with proprietary copolymer blends that are designed to drastically reduce water absorption while maintaining an optimal suppleness for high knot strength. Absolute nylon leaders and tippet have a 29% higher wet knot strength compared to our previous material and up to 40% higher wet knot strength when compared to our competitors.

Hey guys, I’m loving it!
I have been using it the competition scene over here in NZ.
One thing I would love to see would be the tri sighter in 5x . This is a big thing at moment in the world stage in competition fly fishing going down to micro thin leaders. They are using sighter or single coloured leader straight from there fly line to their tippet which is about 0.14mm in diameter. quite a few advantages of this being less effected by wind, and currents if you need to drop sighter in the water. Also the leader stays a lot straighter when fishing lighter nymphs without sag allowing quicker contact when setting the hook. One other thing I was thinking would be awesome is a low stretch version of tri sighter and also bringing in a single colour as well.
Anyway just my thoughts haha. I will continue to use and love your products regardless of the outcome of my thoughts.

Side note: the other day I was an amateur and my euro nymphs decided to hook a tree…..was fishing 6x absolute trout supreme and I bent a micro ring oval before my tippet broke. No word of a lie. Very impressive!!
